The Cajun-Zydeco Connection was founded in 1995 to promote Cajun and Zydeco
music and dancing in Huntsville, AL. We have an active membership that includes
people of all ages.

CZC Dances
CZC sponsors Cajun and Zydeco dances , most of which feature live bands from
Louisiana. Dances are held in a smoke-free environment. Dances are usually held
on Saturday nights, and run from 8 - 11 pm. A free beginner dance lesson is usually
taught at 7:15 pm to help beginning dancers join in the fun.

Dance Classes
Huntsville's premier CZ danseuse, Rebecca Zurn, teaches both Cajun and Zydeco
dance classes that take you beyond the "survival" basics taught at the pre-dance
lesson and let you experience the full enjoyment of Cajun and Zydeco dance!
Classes are offered in Waltz, Two-Step, Jitterbug, Mamou Swing and Zydeco. Both
beginner and advanced instruction are offered.

Festival Trips
Several times a year, groups of dancers from Huntsville head down to Acadiana to
enjoy food, music and dancing at its finest at some of the many festivals held in
Louisiana every year. Favorites are Zydeco Extravaganza over Memorial Day
Weekend, Southwest Zydeco Festival over Labor Day Weekend, the Cajun French
Music Awards and, of course, Mardi Gras.

Krewe Des Fous Dansants
The Krewe Des Fous Dansants (Krewe of Dancing Fools) is the social arm of
CZC. The Krewe des Fous plans member parties, celebrates members' birthdays,
organizes outings and trips to festivals and generally encourages any foolish
behavior its members deem fit. Membership is open to any and all CZC members
(except those who foolishly choose to be excluded). Krewe Des Fous activities are
listed on the Dance Calendar.
